'Tis the season to be thankful! And while you're preparing to make the best Thanksgiving feast yet, you shouldn't forget about the night's best supporting character: the bread rolls. Not only are they delicious on their own, but they can make the mashed potatoes, the turkey, the gravy, and other Thanksgiving staples, stand out. That's why, if you're in a very DIY mood this year, you should try to make these bread rolls at home. To help you with this, the following post will share a recipe on how to make tasty Thanksgiving bread rolls. Keep in mind that this recipe is for about 24 rolls and that it will take over 2 hours.

How to Make Thanksgiving Bread Rolls

Ingredients

250 ml of milk
250 ml of water
900 gm of all-purpose flour
125 gm of sugar
30 gm of active dry yeast
6 gm of salt
3 large eggs
1 stick of unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and let it simmer over medium heat. Once warm, take it off the stove and add the sugar, the water, and the butter into it. Stir this up nicely and let it cool for a bit. After it's cooled down, mix in the eggs and the yeast into it.
  2. Take the milk mixture, salt, and about 450 gm of flour, and mix it up in a bowl with a mixer to create an even texture. Continue adding a little bit of flour at the time, and stirring the concoction until the flour is all in. You should have soft dough balls at the end.
  3. Punch down the resulting dough on a floured surface for a couple of minutes. After that, place it in a greased bowl, cover it with a lid, and let it sit there for about an hour so it can double its size.
  4. Shape the dough into the bread rolls. Then, place the results on a baking sheet and cover them to let them rise once more for about 30 minutes. While you wait for this, start preheating the oven to 177°C.
  5. Finally, you should let the bread rolls bake for about 20 minutes or until you notice they have turned a golden brown color. To make them extra tasty, you can brush them up with a bit of melted garlic butter before you serve them.
