Pasta is perhaps one of the most versatile staple foods, as you can add the ingredients you want to create amazing dishes. If you are looking for variations, spaghetti puttanesca is a great dish which has its origins in southern Italy and is perfect for the upcoming summer months. For this reason at Great Harvest in Austin we prepared the following post containing a simple recipe so you and your loved ones can enjoy this delicious treat.


1pound spaghetti
1 can anchovy fillets, finely chopped
1 tablespoon capers
1 garlic clove, minced
1 jalape ;o, finely chopped
2 cans tomatoes, diced
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 handful fresh basil
Kosher salt
Freshly ground pepper

Cooking the Pasta

Fill a large saucepan with water and place over high heat. Once it starts boiling, add a pinch of kosher salt and once it dissolves add the pasta. Cook your pasta al dente, according to the packet directions.


Pour a drizzle of olive oil in a pan and fry the garlic. Add the capers and anchovies and stir for a few minutes. Now add the jalape ;o and tomatoes, lower the heat and cook for about 3 minutes. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground pepper to taste. Add your sauce to your pasta and garnish with some fresh basil leaves. ;
